                         After finishing graduation, the goal of every student is to find a job as quick as possible. Student of good colleges get offer letters while they are in final year of their studies. Well this is not the case for most of the students, they will be not be having an offer letter, maybe because of their inability or due to poor placements in the college. Whatever might be the case, the first thing is to have a quality resume.

   "A good resume can fetch you a good job" - this is not a myth. 

  Resume is the first thing that a recruiter sees about a candidate, it is like the first impression, as they say, remember that your first impression is the best impression. Hence i would like to share a few key points related to writing a good resume.

  • Try to be professional in your approach

          Have a proper and good email id. Avoid using fancy names, and use a good one.

  • Avoid using informal language and use good and quality words. Use normal words and remember that you are a professional and follow same thing in your words.
  • Provide your accurate phone no. and address so that the recruiter can contact you when needed.

   

  While writing a resume, you have to follow this format as it is good and efficient

  • Use a font size of 10 pt.
  • Use fonts like Times Roman, Calibri etc. 
  • Avoid styling effects like strike through and shadow or shading effects. 
  • Try to keep it simple, remember that you are a professional.
  • Be specific about things you want to tell. 
  • Write things clearly. Don't make it much complex. 

   

  Next is your Job Objective which is one of the most important thing in any resume, a good job objective increases your chances of getting the job. 

  • Mention your goals in 2 - 4 lines.
  • Keep your language simple.
  • It should be good, simple and should be able to grab attention easily.

   

  Next is give about your Educational Details

  • Include School, pre-university, and college degree details etc.
  • Include details of additional courses and certification etc. 

   

  Next is to give details about your Technical Skills
  

  • Programming languages known.
  • Tools used.
  • Core subject details etc.

   

  Next is to include your List of Achievements and Accomplishments 

   

  If you follow this method of writing, surely you have and increased chance of getting a great job.
