How to hide a file in computer

  Some of the files that we have in our computer, we feel to hide some of those. We do not want others to view our personal data. There are many third party software's that are available for this purpose. But, if u want do not have such software and still wish to hide your data, then you can use this trick.

   First go to

  Tools>Folder options> View tab >>

   Check for these options just below the show hidden files option

  • Hide Extension for known file types
  • Hide Protected Operating System Files(Recommended).

  Cross both the options, select them and click on show hidden files options and click on apply

  A hidden folder named as "System Volume Information" will appear with some other
  icons like Recycled and others. Most of the times you might have come accross this folder in your pen drives.

   Put what ever contents that you want to hide from others in "System Volume Information" folder and again select options

  • Hide Extension for known file types
  • Hide Protected Operating System Files(Recommended).

  Deselect the options and click on apply. Now if you check, you will see that "System Volume Information" is hidden.

   So another person cannot view your data that your hidden extreme personal data!!!!!
