Today the last quarterfinal will be played between West Indies and New Zealand & the winner will join the South Africa, Australia & India in seminfinals and take South Africa in first semifinal on 24th march.
For New Zealand till now the tournament is prety good having won the all 6 matches in a row and top the group they are favourites to win this match. The intention Captain McCullum to hit the ball from starting will be key for them. New zealand are upper hand with the superlative form of some of their players means they will have no problems unless Gayle makes him big count for his team. The bowling attack led by duo Tim Southee and Trent Boult have bowled really well so far in the tournament and helps bowled out 4 times opponents below 175. so it not easy task for west indies to tackle this bowling attack which bowled out Australia on 151.
While West indies has not good consistency having lost first game against Ireland their path to quaterfinal is difficult. They qualify on basis of high net runrate than Ireland. As a team though they have performed well only in patches. Cris Gayle will be key man for them since he is the man who can pull any match. Two times champion have to perform good in every department beacause one good catch and one run out can turn the match nowadays. Overall it not about favourites its about who perform on the day because there will no chance to progress in tournament if one loses.
