Vidya Balan wishes for handloom popularization

  Actress Vidya Balan, is known for encouraging talent whether it is in Industry or in society. The latest news we heard that Vidya Balan is more curious about the traditional apparels. She wishes all the Indian weavers, should spread the awareness about the tradition and its significance for the weavers' work to the society.

  On Thursday, at the Lakme Fashion Week the Bollywood hot actress "Parineeta" walked on the ramp in Gaurang Shah, designers. It is to be mentioned here that Gaurang Shah is efficient in designing khadi and textiles.

   

  At that event Vidya was thrilled by an Organza Kanjeevaram saree as shown in this picture.

  Through social networking site Vidya said, "I'm thrilled that Gaurang (Shah) brought a kanjeevaram to me and said 'It's an organza kanjeevaram', something that I hadn't heard before. It falls beautifully,".

  She added, "I am someone who wears lot of handlooms. I strongly feel for it. Slowly I am gaining more knowledge about it so that I can do whatever I can for the weavers and the cause of the handloom,".

  It is to be remembered that Gaurang Shah, had been awarded for his work in textiles and khadi. He designs best especially for Phulkari, Bangladeshi khadi, Kalamkari and Chikankari.

  Shah said, "It is a jugalbandi of khadi of Andhra Pradesh, Bangladeshi khadi, Phulkari, Chikankari and Kalamkari. The Kalamkari has a little bit twist in it,".

  He added, "Generally, when the Kalamkari is painted, they do the black outline and then fill the colour. But this time I have not used black and I have done the painting directly with the colours,".
