Shashi confers the Dadasaheb Phalke award

  Versatile actor Shashi Kapoor is a National Award winner for three times and has received the Padma Bhushan award too in the year 2011. The latest honour to Shashi Kapoor is to receive Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2014.

  Shashi Kapoor turned 77 on March 18, which is the biggest honour in the Indian Filmdom. It is to be remembered that Shashi Kapoor is the 46th winner of the prestigious award. This award is given for the contribution and development of cinema in the Nation.

  

  Through this Award Shashi Kapoor receives a cash prize of Es. 10 lakh, Swarn Kamal and a shawl.

  Arun Jaitley who happens to be Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting conveyed congratulations on this occasion.

  Rishi Kapoor who happens to be nephew of Shashi Kapoor tweeted, "Yessssssss! Shashi Kapoor to get the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award for contribution to Indian Cinema. Well deserved uncle. God Bless!"
