The lights camera action was started in an era where working in cinema is a dream as stage shows were high in 1900’s. The Indian Cinema was born in May 3rd in 1913 with Raja Harishchandra film directed by Dhundiraj Govind Phalke aka Dadasaheb Phalke.
Dhundiraj made the first full length film which is based on Legendary King Harishchandra. He is known for the truth whatever the calamity may be. He was known as Father of Indian Cinema.
Interestingly this film was made will all male cast as women were not willing to play female leads. The reel was 3700 feet long with a runtime of around 40 minutes.
