About the only merit in this film is the sincerity Ayesha Dharker applies to her character of the earnest call centre employee who hooks up with Anderson and inspires him to reconsider his workaholic life. That apart, Outsourced is a string of rusty old jokes that aren't all that funny anymore.I'm going with two out of five for Outsourced; it's a film in which everything ends as expected, just not soon enough. Watch it, but only if you have nothing better to do.

But the heart of the film comes from Todd's blossoming relationship with the Asha. This time for her cardamom body odour and third-eye-power (the shakti of the bhartiya nari that lies in her bindi), her mantra of do-no-touch-me-in-public-in-india, her faith in arranged marriages despite her dalliance with Mr America. This one's surely for the spirit of Indiyeah!

The key to survival is adaptability, a quality demonstrated by every major character in “Outsourced” — particularly Todd, who adapts to his hosts’ culture and language and makes them more invested in their jobs by rewarding efficiency gains with products from the company’s catalog. In its modest way, “Outsourced” may be unique: a charming culture-clash romance that could be taught in business schools.

This unaffected charmer treats a hot-button contempo issue with old-fashioned grace and benevolent wit, rendering it a sure-fire word-of-mouth crowd-pleaser.
