It's a well known fact that GPAs don't reflect a student's true potent at all, as grade inflation is rampant across the country, but not every school inflates their grades the same. Many of the teachers will accept late work from January in May, just to help the student pass or keep that GPA up for college, and they give extra credit galore, so I may actually EARN a C if I
write my term paper far as what I have learned, but he brought in markers and tissues, and did a couple of extra worksheets, so he gets an A anyway. GPAs are very misleading.
So, if we're not going to use test scores, and not going to use letters of recommendation, and we can't rely on GPAs, what else is there?
