Innovation is in. While the remake of Himmatwala is set as a true homage to the 80s, when it comes to the film’s marketing and promotion, it is exploring new frontiers. One such initiative in this direction is Sajid Khan hosting the film’s ‘muhurat’ LIVE on YouTube from Hyderabad on Wednesday, 22nd August.
“Vashu Bhagnani and Siddharth Roy Kapur (of UTV) were bowled over when Sajid explained the idea to them. He felt that this would give Himmatwala further fillip right from the beginning itself en route to the film’s 29th March release. The entire plan has been formulated backwards and the ‘muhurat’ to be hosted LIVE is another step taken forward”, informs an insider.
The shoot is expected to be on the same lines as Sajid Khan’s ‘making’ documentaries for the DVD of his films where he interacts with the audience and makes them a part of the entire exercise.
“Yes”, the insider adds, “This won’t be one of those ‘muhurat’ where cast and crew come together on stage and the film’s kick-start is announced. Instead, Sajid would address his audience LIVE on YouTube, take them to the actual location of ‘muhurat’ and then the film would be announced.”
While Ajay Devgn, Vashu Bhagnani and other cast & crew members are flying down to Hyderabad for the ‘muhurat’, Sajid is supervising necessary logistical arrangements along with UTV to make this as a first of its kinds shoot which is also expected to act as a trailblazer.
When contacted, Sajid confirmed that the details. “The idea has always been to connect with my audience and with Himmatwala this would happen from Day One of the film’s shoot.”
The ‘muhurat’ would be held at 1 PM on 22nd August.
