You may know of The Paperboy because of its golden moment, its shower of chatter, its… you get the idea. We’re talking about thenow-infamous scene made famous by the film’s Cannes Film Festival premiere, in whichNicole Kidman pees on Zac Efron. Well, there’s an actual movie to the attached to that scene and it looks pretty interesting (if you can get past that colorful image).
But for the purposes of the film’s trailer, which dropped Wednesday, the minds behind the film are trying to direct us as far away from that memory as possible. After all, there is an entire plot that doesn’t revolve around Kidman fixing up Efron’s jellyfish sting with a little old fashioned remedy.
The film, which comes from Lee Daniels (Precious) and debuted at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, stars Kidman as a woman trying to save a man on death row (John Cusack) with the help of two reporters — orpaperboys, if you will — played by Efron and Matthew McConaughey. As you can see from the trailer, circumstances are sure to get messy. No, we’re not talking about that scene again….
The Paperboy hits theaters October 5, 2012.
